With the holidays here, what better time than now to think about your pre and post-holiday workouts?!
Bar Method Newport Beach just opened in beautiful Newport Beach and it’s a studio and workout that you’ve got to check out!
I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of the barre studio that’s located right off PCH in the highly anticipated Newport Beach hotspot, “The Garden,” and I was not only impressed with the studio itself, but was sore for three days (in a good way) after the class! But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Let’s talk about the studio. As a fitness instructor and someone who has been in the fitness industry for 22 years, I appreciate when studio owners take the time to think about their members’ needs.
The studio itself is gorgeous! It’s white and bright, which helps motivate me to work out and puts me in a good mood. The locker room is also beautiful and is stocked with everything you need to get ready post workout so you can go directly to the office or to a date night without skipping a beat. The studio also carries a lot of workout clothing specifically from GoldSheep Clothing, which always has the cutest prints and the best fit. Wearing cute workout clothing also motivates me because, lets be honest, I just want to show it off!
Now that we’ve covered the studio lets talk about the workout. I’m someone who loves high intensity workouts. I teach spin, Body Pump and Bootcamp, and I love to sweat! While a barre class isn’t high intensity, YOU WILL BE SORE!
I remember the first time I took a barre class and thought, “is this even a workout?” Fast forward to the next day when I could barely move and that is when I knew that the little movements you do in barre work completely different muscle groups than the high intensity workouts. I was ready for the workout during the grand opening knowing that I would be sore, and of course I was and I loved it!! I felt it mostly in my glutes, inner thighs, and triceps. I now know why so many women get addicted to barre.
The love for barre and the fitness community is what spurred owner Danielle Davidson Duley to open her own beautiful studio in Newport Beach. She’s excited to share her love for the format and new studio with barre veterans and new students alike.
