This is my absolute favorite blog post to write for the year. I’m a planner, a list maker, and a goal setter especially when it comes to the new year. I write an entire blog post about my goals because I want you to see them and I want to keep myself accountable by putting them out there!
Last year I had a theme with my 2018 goals. It was growing my blog and I did that by going to NYFW twice, quitting my full-time job to blog full-time and be super consistent with my content and with all of you! Happily, I fulfilled all my 2018 goals and I’m ready for 2019! With that said, when I set goals in my life, I set myself up for success. I take steps long before I have a completion date, so I can succeed.
Okay, enough about that! Let’s talk about 2019’s goals. While I have several, the overall theme for 2019 is Fitness/Wellness! Obviously, fitness and wellness are a HUGE part of my life, but I’ve never really shared with you guys how big it is. That’s going to change in 2019!
Alison’s Fitness Reviews
I’m going to think of a cuter name than that for the reviews but starting in 2019 each month I plan on reviewing a different format or service that can benefit your fitness goals. Whether it’s a new fitness class or something that can help you bounce back from a tough workout, I plan to review it from start to finish and give you my opinion on whether it’s worth it, etc. I touched on this a little in 2018 with my experience with Cryotherapy and Emsculpt, but in 2019 I’m going to do a lot more! You’re probably wondering why I haven’t incorporated more fitness before? I know it sounds dumb, but I aside from teaching a lot, I’m not super buff, meal prep, take a bunch of supplements, have cheat days or anything else that I see most fitness bloggers do. But you guys love when I incorporate fitness and want to see more so get ready for more in 2019!
Expand My Teaching Abilities
I’ve been teaching for 24 Hour Fitness for 22 years and while I love the company, members and classes, I also want to expand. Sometimes you get complacent in anything you’ve been doing for a long time and it’s a disservice to yourself. With anything I do in life, I want to grow in my field so that’s why in 2019 I’ll also be joining LA Fitness as an instructor and HIIT Coach and hopefully also joining an amazing spin studio that I can’t mention just yet! But Stay tuned!
Purge and Stay Organized
This goes along with the wellness theme because to keep my sanity and blogging/teaching schedule I have to stay organized. This is something I’ve always struggled with. If you walk into our house it looks immaculate, but open any closet, drawer or cupboard and it’s a complete disaster! The worst is my office walk-in closet which is a home for any clothes I’ve shot as well as any goodie bag items or anything else I throw in there. Basically, I shoot an outfit and instead of hanging it back up I throw it on the closet floor creating literally a mountain of clothes. Currently, it’s hard to even open the door and I just want to purge, organize the goodies that I want to do giveaways with, stay tuned for those and not have to freak out when looking for something! I actually plan on showing you my closet just so I can hold myself accountable. I’m embarrassed, but I know I’m not the only one who has these “hoarder” like closets! Remember Monica’s locked closet on Friends???
Incorporate More of Dave and Violet into My Feed
I started doing this more at the end of 2018 and you guys LOVED IT! This still to stays within my theme of health and wellness because honestly having Dave involved in some campaigns or shoots is fun and is good for our relationship. It also shows him how much goes into just one little Instagram post, which is still doesn’t completely get it.
You all love Violet! I mean she’s pretty gorgeous and she is a natural in front camera so she’ll keep showing her cute little face on my feed and maybe even get her own Instagram handle one day! 😉 Stay tuned!
