2018 was Amazing! While there were some lows, the year was filled with mostly highs and looking back I’m so grateful for every experience that this year allowed me to have!
I’m starting with the lows because there’s only really two that stick out and I’m acknowledging them and moving the heck on. Bye Felicia!
The 1st Year Without My Mom
I’ve addressed this before, but 2018 was the first year without my mom. She passed away at the end of 2017, making that year pretty much suck, and while myself and my sister didn’t have to deal with hospital visits or seeing my mom deteriorate, 2018 brought other lows such as dealing with selling her house, drama with other people in her will and the holidays without her. My sister and I got through it and are stronger now for it, but It was tough. I know my mom is smiling from above and is happy that all the highs outweighed the lows.

My Instagram account was hacked
If you don’t know by now, on November 4th, 2018 my Instagram account was hacked. If you’re reading this and think, “that’s not a big of a deal,” for someone who makes her living with her account and has built it over 3 years, it’s a big deal. Basically, think of working for a company for three years and one day you walked into your office and was demoted back to where you started. That’s pretty much what happened. Luckily some people on social media were amazing and helped get the word out and after five days of stressing out and crying, I got it back!!!! Unfortunately, people get their accounts hacked every day and don’t get them back. So, I guess this was a low/high because I did get it back and learned during the process that there are still some good people out there who want to help.

I would say that as a whole 2018 was high in every part of my life. Here are the top five highs that stood out above all the rest!
Quitting my full-time job to blog full-time
It crazy that it’s almost been a year since I quit my full-time job to blog full-time. But on March 1st 2018 I said goodbye to my full-time Marketing Manager position and hello to doing what I love! Was it scary? Heck YES!!!! But a good scary and honestly as soon as I started full-time blogging a ton of opportunities presented themselves! I truly think it was meant to be and I’ve never been so happy! I’m grateful that I get to do what I love every day and am grateful that I took the leap and had faith in the industry and myself.

I went to NYFW
One of my dreams, when I started blogging, was to go to NYFW. In 2018 I went twice and I’m planning my third trip to NYFW for this February! If you are a blogger, you need to experience it at least once in your life. Not only is everything about it fabulous, but you’re in New York City! I love the hustle and bustle of NYFW, the experiences you get when you’re there like hair and makeup, after parties, amazing NY meals, oh and the fashion is pretty okay too! 😉

I was on the local News twice
Yes, that’s not a typo! I was on two different local channels two days in a row! Crazy right? The first day was “modeling” jumpsuits from the Outlets at San Clemente with some of my SoCal Blogger Babes on Good Day LA and the next I was talking about Swimsuit Trends for Fashion Island for KTLA! Both were an absolute dream and I still can’t believe one happened let alone two!

Violet and I were published in magazines
I know this blog is about my highs in 2018, but I must also mention my fur baby too! Violet had a two-page spread in the first ever Covenant Hills Living Magazine! I was so excited/proud and if you ever come over, I’ll show you the framed article hanging in my office! Along with Violet, I was also published in the September issue of Coast Magazine as one of the three OC influencers featured in the article “Under the Influence!” It was very exciting and something you also might see framed in my office. 😉

I worked with some AMAZING Brands
I feel like every brand I worked within 2018 was amazing and honored that some I either worn, used or been a fan of for some time. Some that stick out and I hope to work with again are:
Pic and Pay Shoes
Fab Fit Fun
It’s a 10 Haircare
Outlets at San Clemente
If you’re 2018 wasn’t great, don’t worry. Every year we press reset and start over. What’s in the past is in the past. 2018 was amazing, but I know that 2019 will be even better!!! Stay tuned for my post about my 2019 goals coming Tuesday to the blog!
